6th sense wearable technology
Technology is definitely getting advanced. See this video where Pattie Maes of MIT with her student Pranav Mistry demonstrates the use of gestures for "doing" various things. Definitely worth a view...

Resize multiple images in one shot
Digital cameras are very affordable now. The best part is you don’t need a film and so you can on clicking as many photos as you want or as many as your storage allows. With this, many people now have lots of photos. With the reach of broadband increasing, they want to share online as well.
Digital cameras now come with 6, 8 and 10 MP resolutions or even more. This leads to having photos which are huge in sizes. Though it’s not necessary to shoot in such high resolutions unless you want an A4 or A3 sized print, not many people shoot in low resolutions.
When you want to share them via email, upload to Orkut or Facebook, these files are too heavy. All you need is a 800x600 or 1024x768 resolution image which is less in file size too.
Below is what you can do to quickly resize all the images at once. This is for Windows.
1. FIRST COPY ALL THE PHOTOS THAT YOU WANT TO RESIZE TO A NEW FOLDER.This is very important as the process is not reversible. You can make the photos smaller, but you can’t make the photos bigger again (without a good loss in quality).
2. Select all the photos (Ctrl+A)
3. Right click and select “Open with” and choose “Microsoft Office Picture Manager”
4. All the photos now open in Picture Manager. Click to select “Thumbnail view”. This enables to see all photos at once.![]()
5. Select all photos now by “Ctrl+A” or via “Edit -> Select all”
6. Then go to “Picture – Resize..”
7. On the sidebar that appears to the right, select “Predefined width x height:” When you select it, you have the option to choose different sizes. 1024x768 is a safe size as it’s reasonably big to view and reasonably small to send.
8. Click on “OK”
9. Then go to “File -> Save all”. Please note that when there are more photos, saving does take some time.
10. That’s it. You are done.
Now zip them and send them via email. Or upload them all to your favorite social networking sites. Simple!

Technical jargons – demystified
After a long time, I am blogging again. New year. New start. Wishing everyone a very happy new year.
All my techie friends, am sure you go through situations where people come and ask things like “what is a blog?”, “what is social networking?”….. etc
I have faced it too.
Lets divide the world .
One side of the world – Huge population. Less literates. Lesser computer literates.
Other side of the world – Computer geeks. Entrepreneurs trying to grab every single opportunity.
One such entrepreneur has come up with a novel idea of using simple videos to demystify technical jargons (phishing, blog, social networking etc) and explain in “plain English”. This is very good news for all those people who wanted to know these, but did not know where best to find it (finding is easy in internet. Finding the right and complete information is not). Below are some of the videos I liked.
Thanks to my good friend Gautam (geeky) for “ungyaaning” these.
